  1. College encapsulates time.  An advantage for those truly seeking to extend knowledge, a negative to those who use it to simply extend their adolescence.
  2. That college doesn’t automatically transform someone into an adult.
  3. Your major is probably the least important decision you make while in college.
  4. The most important decisions you make are the daily choices.  Each decision defines character.
  5. That wasting time is never acceptable.
  6. Life lessons are a side project outside of class.  No, they don’t tell you how to find a job or pay your bills.  Also, they don’t tell you that job searching is one of the most tedious, soul-sucking experiences of your life.  You really do have to keep quite the game face.
  7. Putting thoughts into articulated arguments are more important life skills than cramming for a test.
  8. Life isn’t about what you’ll be doing every Friday and Saturday night.
  9. Enjoying alone time is valuable, and makes one balanced in relationships.
  10. You have to save yourself.
