The Back Page is where the feet go up on the desk at the end of the day. It’s that good book with a mug of hot cocoa just before bed. It’s where we goof off after a hard day’s work. The Back Page is our blog.

Arbitrary To Do List

December 5, 2008 — by Lindsey Charlton

Things to do that you probably haven’t done lately:

1.  Write a letter, and mail it.
2.  Whistle as you walk into work. Or while you work, if you wish.
3.  Pick up the hobby that you started months or even years ago and forgot about.
4.  Pick up the unfinished project lurking in your closet or in the garage. Change the car oil, finish knitting the socks, get working on the scrapbook.
5.  Burn a CD of completely random or eclectic music that you listen to the least.
6.  Bake chocolate chip cookies.
7.  Buy a pint of more-expensive-than-usual ice cream and eat it straight from the carton.
8.  Walk somewhere that you normally drive to.
9.  Watch a movie from your childhood. Maybe while you eat the ice cream or chocolate chip cookies.
10.  Journal.

Sometimes the truth is
Not what you want it to be.
Is it ever what you expected?
No, probably not.
Are you okay with that?
Are we meant to create truth or
Are we meant to find it?
