Summer reading

July 28, 2008 — by Jacqueline

How is the summer reading coming for you?

I haven’t found anything which I’d be excited to share with anyone.  I’ve read quite a bit of philosophy and theory lately, but perhaps I need some more of the plot variety.

Would you happen to have any recommendations?

If you like philosophy (without plot), then I suggest Heretics, by G.K.Chesterton.

If you like classic mystery, I highly recommend The Mysterious Mr.Quin, by none other than Agatha Christie.

If you like fantasy, then read The Lord of the Rings by, well, nevermind, everyone knows who wrote that.

Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events is delightful. Though meant for a young audience the play on words makes it enjoyable light reading for a summer rest in a quiet Caribou Coffee.

Sometimes the truth is
Not what you want it to be.
Is it ever what you expected?
No, probably not.
Are you okay with that?
Are we meant to create truth or
Are we meant to find it?
