The Back Page is where the feet go up on the desk at the end of the day. It’s that good book with a mug of hot cocoa just before bed. It’s where we goof off after a hard day’s work. The Back Page is our blog.

Quiet Injustices

Why do women try to erase their womanhood through attaining stream-lined bodies and “fixing” anything natural about themselves?

Why is a woman blamed for dressing immodestly only when she is raped?

Why don’t men and women accept responsibility for their actions?

Why do women have to wear a suit like a man, but then contradict the image with a skirt?

Why are women fluttering between masculinity and feminity, while men maintain stability in their definition of masculinity?

Why don’t people compromise or sacrifice with others anymore? Why are most decisions based on what is best for ourselves, and not others?

Where is the deeper meaning of life in this individualistic culture?

Where is the concept of public good now?

Why do we treat effects with medication and counseling, rather than the causes themselves?

Why don’t men have to maintain image when women are berated for “letting themselves go” as they grow older?

Many questions, but only one real answer. Humans are a selfish and insensitive bunch.

You raise many serious questions that could take many answers, and not simple ones, either.

Too few people ask these questions, much less attempt any answers.

Sometimes the truth is
Not what you want it to be.
Is it ever what you expected?
No, probably not.
Are you okay with that?
Are we meant to create truth or
Are we meant to find it?
