Where the Mind Sprocket staff writes about inspiration, communication, culture, storytelling, and more.

The Back Page is where the feet go up on the desk at the end of the day. It’s that good book with a mug of hot cocoa just before bed. It’s where we goof off after a hard day’s work. The Back Page is our blog.

We are calling for submissions for our first ever print publication in the Fall.

We need fiction, nonfiction, and photos under the theme Documenting the Unseen.

Mind Sprocket magazine is seeking essays and short stories based on the theme Documenting the Unseen. Prose should tell the story of someone who has no voice. As the writer, you tell their unheard story. Stories will be included in our Fall print publication.

These stories are not something you can find on the front page of a newspaper. Or in a book. Or in a magazine. We are looking beyond simple facts and reports to tell real stories that reflect a real person’s humanity. It can be a story of joy, of heartache, of accomplishment, of love.

Please keep submissions under 5,000 words.

We are now accepting poetry at this time.

We will be accepting submissions until June 22, 2008.

Send your piece to ilovetowrite@mindsprocket.com.

Submit photos to our flickr group.

Sometimes the truth is
Not what you want it to be.
Is it ever what you expected?
No, probably not.
Are you okay with that?
Are we meant to create truth or
Are we meant to find it?
