The Back Page is where the feet go up on the desk at the end of the day. It’s that good book with a mug of hot cocoa just before bed. It’s where we goof off after a hard day’s work. The Back Page is our blog.

Take a Break

June 3, 2008 — by Lindsey Charlton

“For whatever we lose(like a you or a me)
it’s always ourselves we find in the sea”

- e.e.cummings

Although I haven’t been at the beach lately, I’ve had more time on my hands for the past week or so than I’ve had in months. It’s made me realize how important it is to take breaks, since it’s easy to get caught up in the day-to-day things that distract and frustrate me.

If life allows it and you have a chance to go away somewhere, do it! Bolt away with your pen and notebook and see what you can figure out about yourself once you mind is given enough time to quiet itself

Sometimes the truth is
Not what you want it to be.
Is it ever what you expected?
No, probably not.
Are you okay with that?
Are we meant to create truth or
Are we meant to find it?
