Congratulations, you made it to Friday! And on Fridays, we share with you a website we frequent or something we’ve found recently while perusing the World Wide Web.
Do you love poetry, but haven’t found a decent website where you could simply absorb the art without loads of conspicuous advertisements? End your Google search for poetry here. The Poetry Archive is a searchable database full of, you guessed it, poetry!
Perks
- guided tours
- historic recordings
- Poet in Residence
- Resources
- Audio to accompany text
- Browse by theme
- Browse by Form
- Search for poem or poet
- Live readings
- Much more!
Why I love this site
1. For browsing new poetry I haven’t seen
2. Reading the poetry I haven’t been able to find since my high school literature textbook
3. For inspiration.
4. Many people experience poetry differently. Some would rather read it to themselves, and others gather more from hearing, and even more others prefer to hear and read simultaneously. You can do any of the three options as you please at this site.

I have just bookmarked the site. I love to quote stuff from poems, but can’t remember many. This will come in handy. The best part about the site is that it also features poems written by international poets.
