The Back Page is where the feet go up on the desk at the end of the day. It’s that good book with a mug of hot cocoa just before bed. It’s where we goof off after a hard day’s work. The Back Page is our blog.

Have you ever looked out the window on a rainy day and exclaimed, “Wow! What a beautiful day!” ? I have yet to hear someone say that while everyone treks around with umbrellas and plastic boots, hoping to protect recently blow-dried hair and favorite jeans.

Most of us say, “Eww, how depressing. It’s raining.”  Or something to that effect.

What about this:  Go out there and dance in the rain before your actual shower.  Get your hair drenching wet and laugh about it.

Notice how the flowers and grass look just a bit greener (and happier!) for the fresh nourishment known as rain, the natural element many of us dread.

Next time, try to enjoy the rain with all your senses.  Listen.  Look. Smell. Taste. Touch.

It doesn’t have to be a clear sky just to be declared “a beautiful day.”

Maybe the beauty we find in rain will nourish us too.

I don’t think it’s a good idea to dance in the rain like that. You could get sick from it, and there goes the fun for at least a couple days. :)

Sometimes the truth is
Not what you want it to be.
Is it ever what you expected?
No, probably not.
Are you okay with that?
Are we meant to create truth or
Are we meant to find it?
