Where the Mind Sprocket staff writes about inspiration, communication, culture, storytelling, and more.

The Back Page is where the feet go up on the desk at the end of the day. It’s that good book with a mug of hot cocoa just before bed. It’s where we goof off after a hard day’s work. The Back Page is our blog.

 The Writer’s Almanac

This site is neat. For example, I can find out today that it’s the birthday of the guy that invented Scrabble, Alfred M. Butts.

There is also a poem featured for the day.

Another cool daily site is Daily Poetry. They will send you a poem a day. This was a great way to discover new poets, as I tend to read works by my few reliable ones over and over.

According to Daily Poetry’s site, April is poetry month. How did I miss that? Did anyone else miss that?

Note that the Writers Almanac is also a radio show on WAMU 88.5 FM at about 6:50 AM, which is perfect for me cause that’s right after i get up. It’s with Garrison Keillor.

Right on, my friend! I haven’t listened to it yet … you’ll have to let me know how it is if you do happen to catch it.

Sometimes the truth is
Not what you want it to be.
Is it ever what you expected?
No, probably not.
Are you okay with that?
Are we meant to create truth or
Are we meant to find it?
