Where the Mind Sprocket staff writes about inspiration, communication, culture, storytelling, and more.

The Back Page is where the feet go up on the desk at the end of the day. It’s that good book with a mug of hot cocoa just before bed. It’s where we goof off after a hard day’s work. The Back Page is our blog.

www.literature.org/ is one of many sources for free books online. A simple Google search will return many results, but this is a site that I was drawn to because of its bare bones simplicity. Don’t get too excited - you won’t be able to get the latest New York Times bestseller here. But you can read, print, do whatever you want, to lots and lots of books in the public domain. Most of these books are the sorts we got stuck reading in high school Literature class … but some of us actually go for that kind of reading on a regular basis.

Alcott, Poe, Darwin … these are only a few names you might recognize out of many more. The site is clean and tidy - no trouble navigating here!

Does anyone else have a favorite resource for online books?

Sometimes the truth is
Not what you want it to be.
Is it ever what you expected?
No, probably not.
Are you okay with that?
Are we meant to create truth or
Are we meant to find it?
